What's the MATTER.....

We have been discussing some of the basic principles of matter.  What properties were you already familiar with?  What were some of the new properties we discussed?  Do you think these new properties change as the states of matter change?  Explain your answer.

I already knew about solids, liquids and gases. There is also the state of matter called plasma. Plasma is like lightning and other weird things like it. The states of matter can change if you add heat or take away heat. For example if you have an icecube and you set it on a counter it will melt, and if you have water and you put it in the freezer it will freeze into ice.

I was familar with solid, liquid, and gas. One of the new peoperties we discussed is plasma, which has to do with electricity. I think that the properties change as the states of matter change. For example , if it's a lighting storm, then it's plasma. If their are puddles outside and it becomes sunny , then the puddles will turn to gas instead of being a liquid.

We already know about solids, liquids and gases. But now we learned about plasma. Plasma is like lightning(electric) We also learned that when you had heat to a solid like ice it will melt and become a liquid. And if you heat to liquid it will evaporate and become a gas.

I knew about solids, liquids, and gases and I've heard about plasma before but I never really knew what it was. I always thought that plasma was just something I'm science fiction movies and stuff. We discussed all of those states of matter that I mentioned before. The states change according to the temperature changes. For example if you have ice in your glass of water and you are sitting outside in 90 degree weather then the ice is going to melt and turn into water and makes your water all watery. Then after a little longer it will start to evaporate and turn into a gas. If it gets cold enough it will repeat that change in the opposite order.

I was familiar with the basic states Solid, Liquid, and Gas. They all have different properties dealing with shape and volume. Then we learned about Plasma. I always knew about plasma but never knew what it actualy was. Plasma is supercharged extreamly hot particals like lightning. I think the properties do change when the state of matter changes. because each state has different properties.

I already knew about solids, liquids, and gases but I didn't know anything about plasma. Plasma is like lightning and electricity. I already knew that you can change the state of matter by changing the temperature. But I didn't know that solids had two main categories. All we learned was the basics and now we're getting more in depth with it.

There are three states of matter that i knew of, Solids, Liguids, And Gasses. But, there is another one called plassma that i didnt know of. plasma is lightning in the sky or other things. Yes the properties change as the states of matter because all you have to do is add heat to a solid and it will become a liquid. And if you add heat to a liguid it becomes a gas. If you take away heat each time it goes back oppisite. For example if you put 2 ice cubes into a pan on the stove and turn the stove on, the ice becomes a liquid and the liquid starts steaming which is a gas.

I already knew about solids , liquids and gases. BUt i didnt know what plasma, which is lighting. You can change the states of matter if you add heat or take away the heat . If you add the heat the solid will turn into a liquid, and if you add heat to the liquid it will turn into a gas.

I'm familiar with some of the basic types of matter such as gas, liquid, and solids.
We talked about plasma (A.K.A. lighting), And the states of matter can change. Cold solids like ice cream can melt.

I already knew about solids, liquids, and gases; plasmas on the other hand are knew to me. I knew of examples of plasmas like lightning and the northern lights, but I didn't kknow what they were called. I do think that the properties of the object change a little but not that mutch. When water freezes into ice, the molecules no longer slide past each other, they vibrate.

I already knew about solids, liquids, and gases. The new propertie of matter that we talked about is plasma. The properties change when the states change because of applying heat or reducing heat. For Example If you take an ice cube and leave it out of the freezer it will melt into water, and if you take water and put it in the freezer it will turn into ice.

I was familiar with solids, liquids, and gases and i knew a little bit about plasma. Plasma is lighting and other super heated gases that the electrons have broken apart from. The properties i was familiar with was freezing and melting but not with vaporation and others.

I knew about solids, liquids, and gases. The one im not familier with is plasma. plasma is somthing to do with light like lightning and the lights above us are all made of plasma.

I had already known a bunch about the solids, liquids, and gases, but I didn't really know much about the types of solids. I thought they were all classified differently, but I didn't know what they were called. I didn't really know about crystalline either. I knew lightning and the sun and stars were some other sort of substance, but I didn't really think they were really plasmas. When it comes to them changing and new forms being discovered; the world is always changing, and can always continue to change. New things are constantly forming and being discovered, so why not new substances?
